What is alex+von?

alex+von was founded by friends and former technology executives, Sonia Wong and Silvia Doundakova. We’re passionate about changing the world for the better and we believe women are the catalyst for this. We’ve created a fabulous new way for women to make income and to help small businesses succeed.

alex+von connects boutique brands with women who sell and recommend their products. Women sell in-person, via home parties, through their blog – whatever works best for them. Sellers make commission on all products her customers purchase including anything her customers buy from the alex+von website. We’re constantly adding new brands, giving sellers and their customers more opportunity to discover amazing products. We discover brands through women like you who recommend products and companies they know and trust.

How do I sell? How do customers buy?

You can sell in-person or have your customers buy from the alex+von site or from your blog. If you sell in-person, your customer places an order with you which you enter into the alex+von site. If your customer buys online, she simply purchases from alex+von like any other website. During checkout, she identifies you as her seller – ensuring you get commission every time. Orders are shipped by our vendors.

alex+von provides you with products, marketing materials, e-commerce tools and online training to help you maximize your sales however you choose to sell.

I’m a blogger. Can I become a seller on alex+von?

Absolutely! We are creating a program especially for bloggers and other online sellers that enables you to make income on products you already love and new products that you discover on alex+von.

I live in Canada. Can I become a seller on alex+von?

At this time we are unable to support sellers in Canada. We hope to support Canadian sellers when we officially launch.

How do I earn income with alex+von?

We developed our compensation plan to reflect our core values. We reward you for (1) recommending and selling products you love and (2) providing exceptional service to your customers and team members.

There are 5 possible ways to earn income depending on whether you sell in-person or from your blog:

Commission on your sales:

1. Standard commission on sales made for the brand(s) you represent / recommend
2. Residual commission on anything else your customers buy from the alex+von website

If you chose to build a team:

1. One-time referral bonus for each new person that becomes a seller
2. Team commission on the retail value of your team’s sales
3. For exceptional leaders, receive a leadership bonus based on how your team rates your coaching, support and leadership skills

How are you different from direct selling companies?

We are different in several key ways though we have incorporated the best elements of direct selling into alex+von.

We give you choice, and we make it simple. At alex+von you decide which boutique brands to represent. You can choose to represent one or more than one. Commission is the same for all brands you choose to represent so you only need to focus on choosing the brand(s) you love.

We help you make more sales with less effort. You make commission on everything your customers buy. You receive full commission on the brands and products you represent. Plus, you receive additional commission on any other products your customers purchase. It doesn't matter if they place an order directly with you or buy from the alex+von website. This means as alex+von signs up more brands you have more products to offer your customers.

We reward you for treating your team members well. We give you a bonus for getting rave reviews from your team. The top range of these bonuses makes our compensation plan more lucrative than most other opportunities out there. We reward you for living our core values.

Every sale makes a difference. With every sale you make, you help small businesses in the U.S. succeed.

In addition, sellers are not required to purchase inventory or deliver items to customers. We also use technology to make the selling and buying process easier and more fun for everyone.

What types of companies are on alex+von?

Our vendors are boutique brands located in the US and are started by people who are passionate about their products and mission. We are currently focused on small vendors that create products for women and children including skincare, cosmetics, and children’s clothing, toys and room decor. However, we're here to support any vendor our community is passionate about - so be sure to tell us about the boutique brands you love. Many of our vendors are ecologically or socially responsible and founded by women. Their products are typically priced from $10 to $75 and have an average price of $20-$25. Our vendors are discovered by our staff and from our community of sellers and customers. Is there a membership fee to become a seller on alex+von?

There is no membership fee, but you are required to purchase a Starter Kit which contains a carefully selected bundle of products from the brand you choose to represent. The kit also includes business and marketing materials to help you launch your business. The Starter Kit is critical to enabling you to experience and learn about your products and to recommend it authentically and effectively. We have made the price of the Starter Kits affordable.

Depending on the Starter Kit you select, you may receive:

1. Full-sized products
2. Product samples for to share with at least 30 people
3. Print marketing materials including brochures to hand out to potential customers
4. Training materials

Who ships customer orders and handles returns?

Our vendors are responsible for shipping orders directly to your customers and handling returns. We help you and your customers through the process.

How do companies on alex+von make money?

alex+von charges vendors a fee for every sale our sellers make. Part of the fee goes to paying seller commission and covering alex+von costs.

Where did the name alex+von come from?

alex+von is named after Silvia’s son, Alex and Sonia’s mother, Von. Both Alex and Von inspired us to create a business that changes the world for the better, and to tap into our entrepreneurial spirits.
